Welcome to our Club

WCMHC Youth showing in Classic Pleasure Driving at the 2023 Calgary Stampede Canadian National Miniature Horse Show

The Western Canadian Miniature Horse Club (WCMHC) was formed in November 1985 by a group of Miniature Horse owners. Thirty-five years later many of those same families are still involved! It is a club for people who love their Miniature horses and want to get together with other Miniature horse enthusiasts for recreation, education, exhibition and a lot of fun! You do not have to own a Miniature horse to join the WCMHC, you just need to be interested in these amazing horses and want to learn more. The WCMHC is associated with both the American Miniature Horse Association and the American Miniature Horse Registry.

We offer sanctioned shows each year, for both the AMHA & AMHR. Our shows include a large slate of Youth and Amateur classes to encourage our youth and our new exhibitors to have fun participating and learning. The WCMHC also has some programs that have been organized to encourage the breeding and exhibition of quality Miniature horses. The WCMHC Futurity Program rewards the breeding of the best quality stock by Canadian breeders. The Superior Gelding Program encourages our club members to show their geldings and have fun with them. Club members also organize and participate in many other events over the year such as non-sanctioned shows, parade entries, nursing home visits, potluck meals, horse agility, combined driving events, and many more!

The Purpose of the Club is to:
1. Develop and promote the Miniature horse breed,
2. Develop and promote good fellowship among other people and associations,
3. Encourage the breeding, training and exhibition of good quality Canadian stock.

The Western Canadian Miniature Horse Club annual membership fees include a newsletter published twice a year and qualifies exhibitors at our club sanctioned shows for the WCMHC Year-End Awards presented each fall. Follow us on Facebook as well!
